Week 2. Candles and excuses

So happy birthday to me.

Thanks to said birthdays celebration I managed to miss my Saturday long ride. Only consolation there is my ridings definitely ahead of my running and swimming.

Sunday however well that saw a different story. Went out to do a “speed hike” because speed hiking is actually a thing. I’m sure it’s called cross country or trail running but hey ho…

Pretty happy with the run. Mainly for surviving. But that’s pretty long for me and managed to set a new 10k PB (a very leisurely 1:19.54). With how tricky and slow the going was I’m happy.

The rest of the week was pretty successful though. Managed to hit every training session with two decent swims and all the runs and turbo trainer sessions.

The only issue was Friday morning. It seems these are my bad day. Last week was a struggle. This week a longer struggle.

Next week will be another one where it’s going to be difficult to get all the sessions in. There’s travelling and freezing temperatures plus a midweek party. Never a good thing. Fingers crossed!
