Question: Running in the day or Running in the night?

That’s the question we were talking about on our long run on Sunday.

Liam prefers to run in the daylight as there are things to look at and see. This helps to distract from and helps keeps boredom at bay.

Gabby on the other hand, apparently “controversially”, prefers to run at night, with the view that you can only see so far. This means that you only have limited numbers of fairly close points to reach. You in turn reach those points more often. This way you get loads of little wins all through your run keeping your motivation up.

Here’s a little video that we made of the run which we almost captured the gist of the conversation:

What do you prefer, running in day or night? Let us know.

  1. […] Back a few weeks we headed out on a long run, where we got up to 1 hour 45 minutes, in the snow and ice (once it stopped snowing). It was our longest run in a long time and was pretty tough with the snowy, icy conditions. We loved it though. Brilliant to get out and make footprints on untouched trails. We also made up a video that formed the question posed in this post: Question: Running in the day or night? […]
